As a producer, executive producer, head of production, and overall global production specialist, I have produced hundreds of spots and campaigns, as well as help shape teams, departments, websites, sales forces, director rosters, and whole companies. This help in shaping systems has come in the form of bold moves or nuanced adjustments. And has been harnessed by agencies, production companies, post houses, film departments, and not for profit organizations.

Simply put, producers make things: or make things better. I have accomplished both on micro and macro levels. But I believe the role of producer has vaulted past the traditional mechanics of managing a broadcast production. The basics of scheduling, budgeting, and of putting together a package of the proper players are still fundamental. But now more than ever our evolving brand environments require navigating a greater variety of platforms. Thus a more nimble and knowledgeable subset of production partners needs to be at a producer’s fingertips, as well as a forward-thinking ability to manage and create content with a wide range of players across multiple platforms. These parameters define my everyday toolkit.

Yet even as new paradigms have changed the landscape, the need for experience has not; it has, in fact, become ever more important. My experience managing both people and process, as well as my ability to be a full and relevant partner to a creative team or task force, remains an essential component of who I am and what I do. I’ve earned those qualities through a lifetime of production oversight.
